Asia’s largest tulip Garden in Srinagar to open on march 16, marking start of Kashmir’s tourist season

Kashmir, March 11,2026-The iconic Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar—Asia’s largest tulip garden—is set to open its gates to visitors on March 16, following an early bloom triggered by favourable weather conditions. The much-awaited opening is expected to mark the beginning of the spring tourist season in Kashmir Valley, drawing thousands of tourists and nature enthusiasts.

Spread across nearly 30 hectares, the sprawling garden features around 1.8 million tulip bulbs representing nearly 70 to 75 varieties. Located on picturesque terraced slopes overlooking the serene Dal Lake, the garden offers visitors a spectacular view of vibrant floral patterns set against the backdrop of the majestic Zabarwan Range.

Apart from the stunning tulips, visitors will also witness colorful displays of other spring flowers such as Daffodil, Hyacinth, and Ranunculus, adding to the garden’s charm and diversity.

Director of Floriculture, Mathoora Masoom, announced that preparations have been completed for the grand opening and that the blooming season is expected to reach its peak in the coming weeks. According to officials, the vibrant display of flowers is likely to remain at its best through late April, attracting both domestic and international visitors.

The garden remains one of the most popular tourist attractions in Srinagar during spring, offering a unique visual experience and playing a key role in boosting tourism in the region. Authorities expect a large influx of visitors as the tulip bloom coincides with the start of the travel season in Kashmir.

Entry tickets for the garden are priced at approximately ₹75 for adults and ₹30 for children. The garden will remain open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., giving tourists ample time to explore the colorful landscape and enjoy the breathtaking views of Dal Lake and the surrounding mountains.

With millions of blooming tulips and a picturesque setting, the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden is once again ready to welcome visitors and celebrate the arrival of spring in Kashmir.
