Thousands of devotees offer prayers at historic Shri Buddha Amarnath Ji temple

Poonch, August 4,2026Thousands of devotees from across Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country thronged the historic Shri Buddha Amarnath Ji Temple in Rajpura, Poonch, on the first Monday of the holy month of Shravan to offer prayers and seek the blessings of Lord Shiva.

Pilgrims began their spiritual journey by taking a holy dip in the sacred Gouri Kund, a revered ritual believed to purify the body and soul before entering the temple. Devotees then offered prayers at the ancient shrine, chanting hymns and performing traditional rituals with deep faith and devotion.

The temple witnessed a large influx of pilgrims throughout the day, with authorities ensuring smooth arrangements for security, traffic management, medical assistance, sanitation, and other essential facilities to facilitate the pilgrimage.

The annual pilgrimage to Shri Buddha Amarnath Ji Temple is one of the most significant religious events in the Pir Panjal region, attracting thousands of Shiva devotees every year during the sacred month of Shravan. The atmosphere resonated with spiritual fervour as devotees prayed for peace, prosperity, and the well-being of all.
