Srinagar, March 23,2026- In a significant step toward rehabilitation and empowerment, the Jammu and Kashmir Government on Monday distributed appointment letters to the next of kin of civilians killed in terrorist incidents across the Union Territory.
The initiative, aimed at providing government employment to affected families, was led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who termed the move a “turning point” in restoring hope and dignity among the youth of the region.
Addressing the beneficiaries during the event, Sinha said that the administration is committed to ensuring justice and support for families who have suffered due to decades of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized that providing jobs is not just financial assistance but a way to integrate affected youth into the mainstream and secure their future.
“The pain of families who lost their loved ones to terrorism cannot be undone, but we are determined to stand with them. Employment opportunities will help these young individuals build a stable life and contribute positively to society,” Sinha said.
Officials informed that the appointments have been made under a special rehabilitation policy, ensuring transparency and timely processing of cases. The move is also part of the broader efforts by the administration to counter the adverse impact of terrorism by focusing on development, employment, and youth engagement.
