Srinagar, May 21, 2025 – Nitish Rajora, Director Information and Public Relations, Jammu and Kashmir, held a high-level review meeting today at the Directorate in Srinagar to finalize arrangements for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025, set to commence on July 3 and conclude on August 9. The annual pilgrimage to the sacred Amarnath cave shrine in the Kashmir Himalayas draws thousands of devotees, and Rajora emphasized seamless coordination and robust logistical planning to ensure a safe and smooth experience for all pilgrims.
During the meeting, Rajora evaluated critical preparations, including the installation of public address systems (PAS) at key Yatra stations, staff deployment, and a strategic media outreach plan. He directed officials to expedite the setup of PAS, banners, hoardings, and other publicity materials to inform pilgrims about essential protocols, such as RFID card usage and safety guidelines. “Timely and effective coordination is paramount to delivering a hassle-free pilgrimage,” Rajora stated, urging officers to complete all arrangements well before the Yatra begins.
The Director also stressed the importance of a robust publicity campaign to provide clear guidance on registration processes and safety measures, particularly in light of heightened security following the April 22, 2025, Pahalgam terror attack. Discussions included staff readiness, equipment availability, and facility management, drawing on successful practices from previous Yatras to enhance pilgrim convenience.
The meeting saw participation from key officials, including Joint Director Headquarters Vivek Puri, Joint Director Kashmir Syed Shahnawaz Ahmad Bukhari, Joint Director Jammu Deepak Dubey, Deputy Director Information PR, Deputy Director Central, and District Information Officers. Managed by the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, the Yatra remains a significant spiritual event, and these meticulous preparations aim to ensure a secure and fulfilling journey for devotees visiting the revered ice Shivling.
