Kashmir, October 15,2025: During Operation Sindoor, the Indian Navy had sailed deep into the Arabian Sea and was fully prepared for decisive action when Pakistan sought cessation of hostilities after four days of intense military engagement in May, revealed Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai on Tuesday.
Speaking at the United Nations Troop Contributing Countries’ Chiefs’ Conclave in New Delhi, Lt Gen Ghai said, “The Indian Navy was also very much in action, ladies and gentlemen. And this is possibly a fact that is not so well known — that the Navy had sailed into the Arabian Sea and, when the DGMO spoke, they were very well poised.”
He added that had Pakistan not stepped back, the consequences could have been catastrophic for the enemy nation.
Operation Sindoor involved precision strikes by India targeting terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives.
The DGMO’s remarks underline India’s military readiness and strategic coordination across its armed forces during the operation, reinforcing the country’s firm stance against cross-border terrorism.
