J&K LG Manoj Sinha flaggged off “Tiranga Shikara Rally” at Dal Lake in Srinagar to promote ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. Hundreds of shikaras carrying tricolor rowed together in the Dal Lake instilling the spirit of nationalism and peace. The LG appealed to everyone to join the campaign by hoisting the tricolor in their homes from 13th to 15th August. J&K LG Shri Manoj Sinha inaugurated “UMEED market place” under AVSAR scheme at Srinagar airport. The scheme promotes rural livelihoods and encourages women to form Self Help Groups (SHGs). The market place was replete with handmade products coasters, bags and accessories all created by Kashmiri women. The girls were given training and they created innovative designs and some products were made through screen printing. This scheme supports local art and artisans of Self Help Groups. A similar marketplace was inaugurated by the LG at Jammu Airport. Both the outlets will exhibit products from the 20 districts of Jammu &Kashmir.
