Kashmiri sikh boy wins Bronze in Nepal, gets hero’s welcome in Pulwama

Pulwama, June 11,2026- In a heartwarming display of Kashmir’s centuries-old tradition of communal harmony, 12-year-old Sahejpreet Singh from Monghama village in Tral, Pulwama, returned home with an international bronze medal and was welcomed with open arms by residents of his village.

Sahejpreet, a young Sikh karate player, secured a bronze medal at the International Karate Championship held in Nepal, bringing pride not only to his family but to the entire Kashmir Valley. Upon his arrival, local residents, most of whom belong to the Muslim community, organized a warm reception and celebrated his achievement with sweets, flowers, and heartfelt congratulations.

The young athlete’s success has become a symbol of unity and shared pride, with villagers coming together to honor his dedication, hard work, and sporting excellence. Residents said Sahejpreet’s achievement belongs to the entire community and reflects the talent and potential of Kashmiri youth on the global stage.
