Udhampur, July 27,2026- The Nasha Mukt Yuva Utsav 2026 commenced with great enthusiasm at Reewayat Palace, Udhampur, bringing together nearly 60 young participants in a vibrant celebration of creativity, social responsibility, and the collective fight against drug abuse. The event showcased the power of youth as agents of change, inspiring participants to spread awareness about the dangers of substance abuse and promote a healthier, drug-free society.
Organised as part of the nationwide Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the district-level festival featured a variety of cultural and artistic performances, including Nukkad Natak (street plays), dance performances, folk songs, and rap presentations. Through these engaging performances, students delivered powerful messages highlighting the harmful effects of drug addiction, the importance of making positive life choices, and the role of young people in building a safer and healthier nation.
The performances received enthusiastic appreciation from the audience, with participants using art and culture as effective mediums to educate and inspire their peers. The event encouraged students to raise awareness within their communities and become ambassadors of the movement against substance abuse.
Officials present at the event lauded the enthusiasm, creativity, and social commitment displayed by the young participants. They emphasised that youth-led awareness campaigns play a crucial role in preventing drug abuse by encouraging healthy lifestyles, strengthening community engagement, and promoting responsible decision-making among the younger generation.
The district-level winners of the competition will now represent Udhampur at the Jammu State-Level Nasha Mukt Yuva Utsav. The competition offers participants an opportunity to showcase their talent while contributing to a meaningful national cause.
The journey does not end there. Winners at the state level will earn the prestigious opportunity to perform before the Prime Minister of India and the Union Home Minister during the Independence Day celebrations on August 15, providing a national platform to showcase their creativity, leadership, and commitment to a Drug-Free India.
