Rajouri, April 18,2026- In a major push against drug trafficking, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has launched a relentless anti-drug crackdown across the Jammu Division from April 11, registering over 45 FIRs and arresting 63 drug smugglers within just a few days.
Officials said the intensified drive led to the seizure of significant quantities of narcotics between April 11 and April 15, marking a strong step towards dismantling drug networks in the region. The crackdown is part of the broader Drug-Free J&K Campaign aimed at eliminating the menace of substance abuse.
Authorities have expanded the scope of enforcement by conducting regular inspections in schools, pharmacies, and drug distribution agencies, ensuring strict monitoring at multiple levels. The administration has reiterated that the drive will continue relentlessly to curb both supply and demand of illegal substances.
Meanwhile, Manoj Sinha joined a padyatra and addressed a public rally in Rajouri, reaffirming the government’s commitment to a drug-free society. He highlighted that Rajouri, being a border district, remains vulnerable to cross-border drug smuggling.
The Lieutenant Governor stressed that despite these challenges, the administration is determined to crush drug networks, dismantle trafficking channels, and safeguard the youth from addiction. He called for greater public participation, urging citizens to support the mission and report any suspicious activities.
The ongoing crackdown, combined with awareness campaigns and community outreach, reflects a comprehensive strategy to combat the drug menace and promote a healthier, drug-free future for Jammu & Kashmir.
