Preparations for SANJY 2026 intensify ahead of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra

Srinagar, June 12,2026- Preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 (SANJY 2026) are in full swing, with authorities working round the clock to ensure a safe, clean, and seamless pilgrimage experience for devotees.

As part of the preparations, major focus is being placed on strengthening sanitation infrastructure and upgrading waste management systems along the yatra routes and key transit locations. Officials have initiated large-scale arrangements to ensure proper hygiene standards at base camps, halting points, and surrounding areas ahead of the pilgrimage beginning on July 3.

The administration is working to deploy adequate sanitation facilities, improve solid waste disposal mechanisms, and enhance cleanliness drives to manage the heavy footfall expected during the annual pilgrimage. Special emphasis is being laid on eco-friendly waste handling and maintaining environmental balance in sensitive mountainous regions.

Authorities have also stressed coordination among multiple departments to ensure uninterrupted services, including water supply, cleanliness monitoring, and on-ground maintenance teams operating throughout the Yatra duration.

The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra remains one of the most significant spiritual pilgrimages in India, and preparations under SANJY 2026 aim to ensure that devotees experience a safe, well-managed, and hygienic journey.
