Manoj Sinha in Bandipora: Drug-Free J&K Will Be Measured by Lives Saved, Not Just Criminals Arrested
निखरता आ रहा है रंग-ए-गुलशन

In the last forty-five days, I have seen tremendous unity and resolve in Jammu and Kashmir. This firm resolve to eradicate the curse of drug addiction from the land of Jammu and Kashmir has become a topic of discussion in the entire Jammu and Kashmir today, said the Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha in his public adress at Bandipora.
In the last 45 days, the people of Jammu and Kashmir, common citizens, social organizations, our sisters, youth, Imam Sahibs, government officials, police personnel, lawyers, businessmen, and all farmers have worked tirelessly. And I can say with great satisfaction that for the first time in a long time, Jammu and Kashmir has truly united with one resolve and one purpose.
Drug supply networks that were hidden from view for some reason are being tracked down. Gangs that had flourished for decades are being eliminated. We have given a clear message that those who make profits at the expense of others will not be allowed to have a safe haven anywhere in Jammu and Kashmir, LG stated.
From the land of Bandipora, I want to tell all of you that those people who have tried to destroy our families and our children, their existence should not remain on this earth and they will definitely be wiped out. In the last 45 days, more than 860 FIR cases have been reported. More than 950 drug smugglers and peddlers have been sent behind bars. The police and administration have also razed the narco palaces built with the black money of drug smugglers.
I believe that the key to achieving a drug-free Jammu Kashmir will not be just the number of arrested criminals, but the number of lives we can save and revive. The measure of success of a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir will be the homes and families that can be resettled. The success of a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir will be measured by our youth who will be able to fulfill their dreams in the future. And I assure you that the administration will not rest until it fulfils your dreams, assured Manoj Sinha.
