Srinagar, July 26,2026- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid heartfelt tributes to the brave martyrs on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, honouring the soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice during Operation Vijay to safeguard the sovereignty, integrity, and honour of Maa Bharti.
In his message, the Lieutenant Governor said he bows to the brave heroes whose unparalleled courage, valour, and patriotism ensured India’s victory in the 1999 Kargil War. He stated that the extraordinary bravery and unwavering commitment of the Indian Armed Forces will continue to inspire generations to serve the nation with dedication and courage.
LG Manoj Sinha also expressed deep reverence for the families of the fallen soldiers, acknowledging their immense sacrifice and steadfast commitment to the nation. He said the selfless dedication of the martyrs’ families remains an enduring symbol of India’s ultimate national pride and resilience.
Kargil Vijay Diwas, observed every year on July 26, commemorates India’s historic victory in Operation Vijay, when the Indian Armed Forces successfully reclaimed strategic positions in the Kargil sector from Pakistani intruders. The day is dedicated to remembering the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering spirit of the soldiers who defended the nation’s borders under the most challenging circumstances.
