IAF Kanyakumari–Kargil Cycling Expedition Reaches Jammu, Continues Towards Kargil

The Indian Air Force’s historic Kanyakumari-to-Kargil cycling expedition reached Jammu on September 28, 2026, where the cycling contingent interacted with the media at Maharaja Hari Singh Chowk, Tawi Bridge. The team subsequently departed for Udhampur at 7:00 AM as it continued its challenging journey towards Kargil. The expedition showcases the IAF’s spirit of discipline, endurance, adventure and commitment to the nation. The cyclists are undertaking the long-distance journey as a tribute to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice during the Kargil War. The expedition also carries a message for the younger generation, encouraging youth to contribute to the nation through sincerity, dedication and hard work. During interactions along the route, the cyclists are engaging with members of the public and young people, sharing the values of courage, perseverance and national service. The team began its journey from Delhi on September 22, with the larger expedition planned from Kanyakumari to Kargil. The cyclists are scheduled to reach the Kargil War Memorial on October 8, where they will pay tribute to the nation’s fallen heroes. As the expedition moves from Jammu towards Udhampur and onward to the high-altitude terrain of Kargil, it continues to highlight the importance of physical fitness, teamwork and determination. The Kanyakumari–Kargil cycling expedition is not only a test of endurance but also an initiative to keep the legacy of the Kargil heroes alive and inspire citizens, particularly young people, to remain committed to the nation.
