Srinagar, January 10,2026- Deputy Commissioner Srinagar reviewed the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) scheme in the district and stressed the need for time-bound coverage of all eligible unorganised workers to ensure timely pension benefits.
During the review meeting, the DC assessed enrollment progress under the scheme, which aims to provide a monthly pension to workers in the unorganised sector after attaining the age of 60 years. Emphasis was laid on identifying eligible beneficiaries, improving outreach, and addressing bottlenecks affecting registrations.
The Deputy Commissioner directed concerned departments to intensify awareness campaigns, ensure seamless registration, and closely monitor field-level performance. He also underscored the importance of coordination among line departments to achieve targets within stipulated timelines.
Officials were asked to ensure that no eligible worker is left out, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to social security and welfare of unorganised workers in Srinagar district.
