J&K LG Shri Manoj Sinha inaugurated “UMEED market place” under AVSAR scheme at Srinagar airport. The scheme promotes rural livelihoods and encourages women to form Self Help Groups (SHGs). The market place was replete with handmade products coasters, bags and accessories all created by Kashmiri women. The girls were given training and they created innovative designs and some products were made through screen printing. This scheme supports local art and artisans of Self Help Groups.
