Upcoming 4-lane road service linking Jammu to Kashmir will bring relief to locals and tourists

This road that you see links Jammu to Kashmir. According to Rashid Ahmad, a local resident of Rajouri, for 70 years, the road lay in a dilapidated condition even though this is the main road on which a lot of tourists travel to Kashmir from Jammu. Because of the run-down condition of the road, accidents used to frequently occur and vehicles were harmed. The Kashmiri people were quite upset by the road condition. Today, we are thankful that the present administration under the aegis of Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha has listened to our demand and undertaken the task of constructing 4-lane road service. The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari has said that construction of the four lane national highway (NH-44) from Jammu to Srinagar will be completed by December 2023. Travellers will be able to reach Srinagar from Jammu in four hours.

Expressing gratefulness, Abrar ul Haq says, earlier we used to see accidents on a daily basis. There were many patients who needed to be taken to city hospitals, many used to die on the way while commuting them from Rajouri to Jammu. The repair and widening of roads will also lead to prosperity of the region as trade activities will carry on smoothly without road related hiccups.
