Jammu, November 25 ,2025: In a milestone moment for Jammu & Kashmir’s mineral and industrial landscape, Union Minister Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Dr. Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of J&K, and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Satendra Chaudhary jointly inaugurated the Launch & Roadshow on the e-auction of limestone mineral blocks at the Convention Centre, Jammu. Senior officials from the Ministry of Mines and the J&K Government were also present at the event.
The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolising a new dawn of opportunity for the Union Territory, followed by a powerful and soulful rendition of Vande Mataram.
The initiative marks a transformational step towards tapping Jammu & Kashmir’s vast mineral reserves, with limestone identified as a key resource for industrial expansion, cement manufacturing, and infrastructure development. The introduction of e-auctioning aims to promote transparency, investor confidence, and efficient mineral block allocation.
Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries underlined that the e-auction of limestone blocks will unlock J&K’s mineral potential, attract private investment, generate employment, and boost regional economic development. The roadshow provided prospective investors with detailed insights into mineral prospects, policy frameworks, and upcoming opportunities in the mining sector.
The event reflects the government’s commitment to creating a modern, transparent, and investment-friendly mining ecosystem, while ensuring sustainable utilization of natural resources.
