J&K Revives Cooperative Movement: 72nd Cooperative Week Celebrated Across Districts This 72nd Cooperative Week is being celebrated. This has been going on for many years. People have been joining the cooperative, coming and going. The basic philosophy of cooperatives has been to provide at least some relief to the poor sections of society. In Jammu & Kashmir in Uri, Gulmarg, Patan, Baramulla or any other district, the coperative departments have started so that all the essential things of life can be obtained at the lowest cost. Babila Rakwal, JK Administrative Services said, the All India Cooperative Week Services is being celebrated from November 14 to 20th November. Since the last two-three years, this tradition has been revived in J&K. This week is an opportunity to showcase and appreciate all the activities that take place throughout the year and to confer awards. Awareness programmes were being conducted in block level districts. Our FPOs, FPCs and Cooperative societies are trying to take the shape of a movement. I hope that in the next three to four years, we will revive the cooperative movement that was lagging behind in J&K.
