Kashmir, November 22, 2025-The Department of Handicrafts and Handloom today inaugurated a three-day “Know Your Artisan” exhibition at Sher-e-Kashmir Park, Srinagar, bringing together skilled local artisans from across the Kashmir Valley.
The event showcases a diverse range of handmade crafts, traditional techniques and centuries-old artistry, offering visitors a closer look at the craftsmanship that defines Kashmir’s rich cultural legacy.
Officials from the department said the exhibition aims to promote Kashmir’s cultural heritage, strengthen market linkages and support the livelihoods of local artisans who continue to preserve the region’s traditional crafts.
Visitors to the exhibition can explore stalls featuring pashmina weaving, papier-mâché art, wood carving, copperware, carpet weaving, Sozni embroidery and other traditional crafts, reflecting Kashmir’s vibrant artisan landscape.
The three-day event is set to attract art lovers, tourists and craft enthusiasts, offering them an opportunity to directly interact with artisans and understand the process behind their exquisite work.
The department said that initiatives like “Know Your Artisan” play a crucial role in boosting the artisan community and promoting Kashmir’s globally acclaimed handicraft sector.
