Pulwama excels in aspirational block development

As part of the Aspirational Block Program, nearly 500 blocks across the country were chosen based on the criteria of backwardness. Among them, Achgoze block in Pulwama district qualified as one of the most backward blocks of the country and was selected as an aspirational block. Since its selection, significant developmental changes have taken place in Achgoze and Aripal blocks of Pulwama, where earlier there had been visible developmental gaps. Today, those gaps have been considerably reduced, and the local people are witnessing real progress. The participation of citizens in various government programs is growing, which reflects their satisfaction and involvement in the development process. The Deputy Commissioner of Pulwama and the district administration have been working with dedication to ensure that no sector remains lacking. The efforts of officers, especially at the grassroots level, have helped people receive direct benefits. As a result of these initiatives, the block has made remarkable progress in key development areas. This achievement is reflected in the Delta Ranking released by NITI Aayog, where Achgoze block of Pulwama secured the second position. To honour the officers who contributed to achieving saturation in the five major indicators, a felicitation ceremony was organised.
