Srinagar, July 20, 2025 – The picturesque Dal Lake in Srinagar came alive with enthusiasm as the Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police hosted the ‘Pedal Through Paradise’ Cycle Race on Sunday. Over 3,000 participants, aged 5 to 60, including specially-abled individuals, cycled along the scenic Boulevard Road, embodying unity, fitness, and hope for a brighter Jammu and Kashmir.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who distributed prizes to winners, praised the J&K Police for their innovative initiative. “This cyclothon is a powerful symbol of a new J&K, inspiring our youth to embrace progress over violence and addiction,” Sinha said, reaffirming his resolve to eradicate terrorism, its ecosystem, and drug addiction to build a terrorism-free, drug-free, and fit J&K.
Additional Director General of J&K Armed Police, Anand Jain, emphasized the event’s goal: “‘Pedal Through Paradise’ promotes fitness and positive engagement, urging youth to contribute to nation-building.” The event highlighted the J&K Police’s legacy of sacrifice and service, which has fostered peace and national unity in the region.
The Srinagar Traffic Police ensured smooth conduct by closing Boulevard Road from Lalit Ghat to Harwan and Pandach between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM. ‘Pedal Through Paradise’ stands as a testament to J&K’s journey toward peace, prosperity, and communal harmony.
