Budgam, Jammu & Kashmir, April 17, 2025 – Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Akshay Labroo, conducted a detailed inspection of two key development projects in the Khag area: the 13-km Sitharan-Tosamaidan Road and the new Primary Health Centre building at Lassipora Drang. His visit highlights the district’s focus on improving healthcare access, enhancing connectivity, and promoting tourism to drive economic growth.
Labroo assessed the ongoing construction of the Sitharan-Tosamaidan Road, a 13-km project funded under NABARD, designed to boost tourism in the picturesque Tosamaidan meadows and create job opportunities for local youth. With work resuming due to favorable weather, he announced that macadamization of the initial 7-km stretch will commence soon, with a target completion date of June 2025. He instructed agencies to prioritize timely execution while ensuring quality standards.
At the PHC Lassipora Drang, Labroo reviewed the newly constructed facility, which aims to strengthen healthcare delivery in the region. He emphasized that its operationalization will provide accessible, high-quality medical services to residents, aligning with the administration’s commitment to public welfare. Labroo directed officials to expedite the completion of all sanctioned projects for early public use.
Joined by key officials, including the SDM Beerwah, Chief Planning Officer Budgam, CMO Budgam, Tehsildar Khag, and BMO Khag, Labroo’s proactive oversight was praised with the Tosamaidan Development Forum commending his dedication to regional progress. These efforts reflect Budgam’s broader vision of sustainable development and improved public services.
