‘Nasha Mukti Abhiyan’ Drives Drug Awareness in Awantipora, Calls for Community Action. The foundation of this public awareness programme ‘Nasha Mukti Abhiyan’ began on August 8, 2020. Brown sugar, charas, and other drugs have a withdrawal symptom. These are such expensive addictions that those who get into it go mad, they cannot do anything after that, said Police officer RP Singh addressing a Medical Camp on Drug Abuse organised by the Police in Awantipora District, Jammu & Kashmir. Just like the police is taking this step, all of us citizens should also participate enthusiastically and there should be public awareness programmes in every state, said one citizen. Children should stay free from this addiction and lead a healthy life. The main aim of the ‘Nasha Mukti Abhiyan’ is to keep our area free from drugs. We gathered the people of Awantipora and explained how the use of drugs spoil a society. In this fight against drugs, the mohallas and community as well as the public needs to participate. On identification the drug addicts can be taken to deaddiction centres in Kashmir. Police Officer RP Singh implored the people to inform the police if they came across anyone selling drugs or consuming drugs so that the Police can eradicate this evil from the society.
