Baramulla, May 9, 2025: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha hailed the indomitable spirit of Indian soldiers stationed in Baramulla, calling them the “Bravest of the Brave” during a visit to the region amidst heightened tensions along the Line of Control (LoC). Addressing the troops, LG Sinha expressed pride in their unwavering resolve to destroy the enemy and protect India’s sovereignty, following Pakistan’s unprovoked shelling that targeted civilian areas in Uri and other sectors since May 7.
“भारत माता की जय! A proud privilege to be amongst Bravest of the Brave, our heroes in Baramulla. They have just one dream and one resolve—Destroy the enemy & its capability to attack Bharat and to safeguard our citizens and Bharat’s sovereignty. Jai Hind Ki Sena!” LG Sinha proclaimed, as shared on the official X handle of the J&K LG’s office. He added, “During my interaction with soldiers, I saw determination in their eyes and I want to tell the people across the country that you are in safe hands. Entire nation is drawing inspiration from their valour. May Prabhu Shri Ram give you the strength to decimate the enemy. Jai Hind!”
LG Sinha’s visit comes in the wake of Pakistan’s aggressive shelling, which killed 16 civilians, including women and children, across Uri, Kupwara, Poonch, and Rajouri. The attacks, involving heavy mortars and artillery, followed India’s Operation Sindoor—a precision strike on May 7 targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives. The Indian Army’s proportionate response has kept the enemy at bay, with soldiers in Baramulla displaying steely determination to neutralize any further threats.
Reaffirming the government’s zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism, LG Sinha declared, “We have vowed to neutralize terrorists and my message is clear—if you inflict injury on any Indian citizen, we will hunt you down.” Addressing the people of Jammu and Kashmir, he emphasized, “Peace is the foundation of prosperity & our men in uniform will ensure that J&K & Bharat is peaceful & prosperous.”
The LG’s interaction with the troops highlighted their role as the backbone of India’s security, inspiring confidence nationwide. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, closely monitoring the situation, has directed top officials to bolster defenses and ensure civilian safety. Relief efforts are underway, with injured residents receiving treatment at GMC Baramulla and displaced families relocated to safe shelters.
As tensions persist along the LoC, LG Sinha’s stirring words and the soldiers’ valor underscore India’s resolve to safeguard its citizens and maintain peace in J&K. The nation stands united behind its armed forces, ready to counter any aggression and secure a prosperous future.
