70th All India Cooperative Week celebrations begin at Budgam

BUDGAM, NOVEMBER 15: The Department of Cooperatives District Budgam today held a daylong awareness programme to celebrate 70th All India Cooperative Week at Sheikh-Ul –Alam Hall, Budgam.
The theme of the 68th All India Cooperative Week is “Role of Cooperative in $5 Trillion Economy and SDGs” and under the theme of the day November – 15 “Revitalization of Non- Credit Cooperatives and Financial Inclusion.”
Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam, Akshay Labroo, who was chief guest on the occasion, appreciated Cooperative Department Budgam for its exemplary work and efforts to transform the lives of people associated with Cooperative Societies.
The DC encouraged the District Cooperative Department Budgam to keep working hard and pursue it in a way that we are able to create numerous success stories in the district Budgam.
The main objective of the celebrations is to highlight the achievement of the Cooperative Sector, create awareness about how to uplift the weaker sections of society, share success stories and to chalk out the future strategy for strengthening the Cooperative movement.
The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Dr Akramullah Tak along with Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies District Budgam Aabida Nabi unfurled the Cooperative Flag to mark the celebrations.
Various students of Gousia Cooperative Educational Institute Panzan were felicitated for their exemplary performances in studies on the occasion. Besides registration certificates were also distributed among various Societies.
The Deputy Registrar highlighted the role of Cooperative in the socio-economic up-liftment and emphasized on the need for formation of new Cooperatives in different fields by involving more and more youth. He also highlighted the achievements and success stories of Cooperative Sector Budgam through PowerPoint Presentation. A
Cultural programme was performed by the students of Gousia Cooperative Educational Institute Panzan.
On the occasion, different eminent speakers including CMO Budgam and other district officers threw light on their different department wise public welfare schemes.
The function among others was also attended by District Audit Officer Cooperative Societies Budgam, Departmental Officers/officials, Institutional employees, Co-operators and eminent citizens.
