Kashmir Ahead

SCERT Kashmir trains 50 master resource persons to strengthen digital education for 800 teachers across 10 districts

Kashmir, November 5,2026-In a significant step towards strengthening technology-enabled education in Jammu and Kashmir, the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Kashmir, has trained 50 Master Resource Persons (MRPs) to facilitate capacity-building programmes for 800 teachers across all 10 districts of the Kashmir division.

The initiative aims to expand the use of the Digital Infrastructure for Knowledge Sharing (DIKSHA) platform in schools and enhance teachers’ ability to integrate digital resources into everyday classroom teaching. The programme is focused on equipping educators with essential digital skills, improving access to quality educational content and encouraging innovative teaching practices.

Strengthening Digital Learning in Schools

The training programme is designed to create a strong network of resource persons who will subsequently support teachers at the district level. The 50 trained Master Resource Persons will play an important role in guiding and training 800 teachers, ensuring that the benefits of digital education reach schools across the Kashmir division.

By developing a pool of trained resource persons, SCERT Kashmir aims to strengthen the professional capabilities of teachers and promote the effective use of technology in the education system.

The initiative also reflects the growing importance of digital platforms in modern education, where technology can help teachers make lessons more engaging, interactive and accessible for students from different backgrounds.

DIKSHA Platform to Support Classroom Teaching

A key focus of the initiative is the wider adoption of the DIKSHA platform, which provides digital educational resources and learning opportunities for teachers and students.

The platform offers access to e-content, educational courses and other learning materials that can support classroom instruction and independent learning.

Through the capacity-building programme, teachers will be encouraged to explore and utilise these digital resources to make teaching more effective and student-centric.

The integration of DIKSHA into classroom activities can also help educators adopt innovative approaches, simplify complex concepts and provide students with additional learning resources beyond traditional textbooks.

Focus on Teacher Capacity Building

Teacher training remains an important component of improving the overall quality of education. With classrooms increasingly incorporating digital tools, educators require continuous professional development to keep pace with changing teaching methods and emerging technologies.

The SCERT Kashmir initiative seeks to address this requirement by strengthening teachers’ digital competencies and building their confidence in using technology for educational purposes.

The trained Master Resource Persons will facilitate further capacity-building sessions for teachers, helping them understand the features and practical applications of the DIKSHA platform.

The programme is expected to create opportunities for knowledge-sharing, peer learning and the exchange of effective teaching practices among educators across the region.

Reaching All 10 Districts of Kashmir Division

With 800 teachers set to benefit from the programme across all 10 districts, the initiative aims to ensure wider participation and more uniform access to digital education training.

The district-level outreach model will allow teachers from different educational institutions to become familiar with digital learning resources and incorporate them into their teaching practices.

It will also contribute towards building a more technology-oriented educational environment, where digital tools complement traditional classroom instruction.

Towards a Modern and Student-Centric Education System

The SCERT Kashmir initiative represents an important effort to strengthen the education ecosystem through teacher empowerment and technology integration.

By training 50 Master Resource Persons to support 800 teachers, the programme seeks to establish a structured approach to digital capacity building across the Kashmir division.

The wider use of the DIKSHA platform can help improve access to educational content, encourage interactive learning and support teachers in addressing the diverse learning needs of students.

As Jammu and Kashmir continues to focus on improving educational standards, initiatives that combine teacher training, digital infrastructure and innovative classroom practices can play a significant role in shaping a future-ready education system.

The effort underscores the importance of empowering teachers with the right skills and resources to make learning more accessible, engaging and inclusive for the next generation.
