Zonal level chess tournament kicks off annual sports activities in Baramulla

Baramulla, April 11, 2025 – The Department of Youth Services and Sports District Baramulla launched its annual sports calendar with a vibrant Inter-School Zonal Level Chess Competition for Under-14 and Under-17 Boys on April 10. Held at Subhana Stadium, Sopore, and organised by the Zonal Physical Education Officer Sopore, the event marked the start of a series of inter-school competitions aimed at nurturing young talent and promoting sports culture.

The chess tournament saw an impressive turnout, with 50 student participants from 20 educational institutions in the Sopore zone engaging in intense matches.
