He hoped that the runners-up team would show a better performance next time.

LG Manoj Sinha recited a few lines from a poetry to encourage the youth. He said that he had come today to issue a clarion call to the youth. He said that sports is the choice of life that connects hearts. Sports brings unity among people. The Sports Council as well as the Sports Department strive to fulfill your dreams. We are trying to set an example of progress and advancement of people through sports. In the past two-three years, Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed the new likes of people. We are trying to remove the hurdles in their way.

He recalled the recent ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav event that created new passion and spirit among the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that patriotism is in the nature of youth. We saw a reflection of it during 1942 and 1947 Independence era. Today, the scene of change from Kashmir to Kanya Kumari points to the fact that progress does not mean brandishing a gun in hand, but by respecting Tiranga in hand and having nation-building aspirations in the heart. The hopes of Jammu and Kashmir and India rests on you. He said the youth must remember at every moment of their life that only they can change the picture of J&K and India’s fate. The enthusiasm and mentality of the youth will build a golden period in India.

He said only the youth has the potential to light up the society and transform several vital matters related to social welfare. He said we are witnessing unifying power of sports and personal transformation of youth, who are emerging as creative leaders of the society, the LG further stated. He said this year’s mission is to make J&K drug-free, corruption-free, and a state full of employability for the youth. He stated with responsibility that let us all come together to fulfill this mission.

At the tournament, the youth of J&K were thankful to the LG for organising sports activities in almost every town, village or city and personally visiting as Chief Guest to encourage them. They said the District Administration and the Police also fully support them. The sports leaders at the football tournament in Ganderbal said that parents should give preference to studies and sports. By getting involved in sports, the health of children will be fine and sports will take care of their future too.
