Udhampur march against drugs: LG Manoj Sinha leads people’s fight

Udhampur, April 27,2026- Reinforcing the government’s firm stance against drug abuse, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday led a powerful call for collective action during a massive anti-drug padyatra held in Udhampur. Thousands of citizens, including youth, civil society members, and officials, participated in the march, pledging solidarity for a Drug-Free Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor said that Jammu and Kashmir is rising with renewed strength to reject the drug menace that continues to corrode society. He emphasized the urgent need to protect the youth from falling prey to narcotics and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to eradicating the menace.

“This is the hour for society to awaken, to fight and to prevail. We must recognize this as our shared war against drugs, and together we will win this battle,” he said, urging every citizen to play an active role in the anti-drug movement.

The padyatra witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, volunteers, and local residents, reflecting a growing public awareness and determination to combat drug abuse in the region. Participants raised slogans and carried placards promoting a drug-free society.

The initiative is part of the ongoing campaign to eliminate narcotics from Jammu and Kashmir, with the administration intensifying efforts through awareness drives, strict law enforcement, and community engagement.
