Token distribution begins for Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026; on-the-spot registration starts today

Jammu, July 1,2026- The Jammu administration has started the distribution of tokens for the registration of the Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026, with thousands of devotees arriving to complete the formalities ahead of the annual pilgrimage. Pilgrims who have received tokens can now complete their on-the-spot registration, which officially begins today.

To ensure a smooth and hassle-free registration process, dedicated counters have been set up at multiple locations across Jammu. The administration has made elaborate arrangements for document verification, biometric authentication, e-KYC, and RFID card issuance, which are mandatory for all yatris undertaking the pilgrimage.

Officials said that pilgrims must carry a valid Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) along with a government-issued identity proof to complete the registration process. After successful verification, devotees will be issued RFID cards that will help authorities monitor the movement of pilgrims and enhance safety throughout the Yatra.

The Jammu administration has also put in place extensive facilities, including accommodation, drinking water, sanitation, medical assistance, security, and traffic management, to ensure the comfort and convenience of pilgrims arriving from different parts of the country.

The Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026 is scheduled to commence on July 3 through both the traditional Pahalgam route in Anantnag and the shorter Baltal route in Ganderbal. The first batch of pilgrims will be flagged off from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu on July 2 amid tight security arrangements.

Authorities have urged all devotees to follow the guidelines issued by the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB) and complete the registration process well in advance for a safe and seamless pilgrimage.
