Soft power of J&K are the artists, so make them powerful: Manoj Sinha at Jashn-e-Jammu Kashmir

I believe that the contribution made by the artists and associations of Jammu and Kashmir in building the bright future of Jammu and Kashmir will definitely get its due place in history, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha while inaugurating Jashne-e-Jammu Kashmir. Those 350 people who have taken part in this programme are the simple artists who represent different art, different ideas, different types of folk dance and expression. This is the soft power of Jammu and Kashmir and India, LG stated. In the last four years I can say that this academy has done very commendable work in Jammu and Kashmir, LG said.In the last four-five years, there has been new momentum and new energy in Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir has made many new records in the direction of inclusive development. You all have seen that in the last few months, peaceful and fair elections of Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly were held in Jammu and Kashmir. This not only increased the spread of Lok Tantra, not only increased the values of Lok Tantra, but I think it was appreciated all over the world. There was no rigging, no repolling, no river of blood flowed as was being expected, and not even a single stone was cast in both the elections. In the last four-five years, every citizen of every class in J&K has definitely developed the confidence that the administration will not treat them in a biased manner. And many types of work have been done in the lives of many people for the prosperity and progress of the people here.

LG Manoj Sinha quoted some lines from an old couplet…

Our colleagues tried to create an inclusive cultural ecosystem in the society. And I believe that no society can survive without an artist, LG opined. To maintain the pace of development in the society, it is necessary that teachers, scientists, artists, musicians, all of them work together to serve the nation. The administration has taken several decisions over the years for the overall welfare of the artists. A separate fund has also been established for the families of needy artists. I understand very well that the responsibility of realising the resolution of inclusive development of the society also rests on the experts in the field of art. And I believe that if they are powerful then they will be able to give a new future to Jammu and Kashmir, LG Manoj Sinha remarked. If the creation of a new Jammu and Kashmir full of new hope is seen from the point of view of statistics, we can say that there was a time when nine to ten projects were completed every year in Jammu and Kashmir. In the last four years, the pace of Jammu and Kashmir has increased and 90,000 to 1 lakh projects are now being completed every year. In the coming future, this permanent change will continue to strive to achieve its goals of building the new Jammu and Kashmir and ensuring socio-economic empowerment, equality and dignity of all its citizens, said Manoj Sinha.

He concluded with these lines…
