SHD organises awareness camp in Reasi

REASI, NOVEMBER 21: To educate and empower sheep breeders and rearers, the Department of Sheep Husbandry Reasi today conducted a day-long awareness camp in Reasi. The event witnessed active participation of a significant number of breeders hailing from different parts of the district.
District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Dr. Sarfaraz Naseem Chowdhary, along with a team of dedicated doctors and officers, including paravets from the department, spearheaded the informative session.
District Development Commissioner Reasi Vishesh Mahajan was the chief guest on the occasion.
During the camp, the District Development Commissioner urged the doctors and officers of the department to work with zeal and enthusiasm, ensuring the delivery of optimal services to the breeders. Additionally, he encouraged breeders to actively participate in and avail the maximum benefits of government schemes such as ISDS, TSP, HADP, and KCC.
DDC Reasi, at the event shed light on various government schemes, highlighting the significance of initiatives like ISDS (Integrated Sheep Development Scheme), TSP (Tribal Sub Plan), HADP (Hill Area Development Programme), and KCC (Kisan Credit Card). Furthermore, the audience was educated about disease control and management practices to safeguard the health and well-being of livestock.
He said awareness camp proved to be an invaluable platform for knowledge exchange, fostering a stronger bond between the Sheep Husbandry Department and the local sheep farming community. Such initiatives are instrumental in promoting sustainable practices and ensuring the prosperity of the region’s livestock sector.
Dr. Sarfaraz Naseem Chowdhary said that Department of Sheep Husbandry Reasi is committed to promoting the welfare of sheep breeders and rearers in the district.
