Pulwama, 3 September 2025:Amid the flood-like situation in Pulwama caused by continuous heavy rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir, the Pulwama Police along with rescue teams have launched large-scale rescue operations in affected areas. Several families and children trapped in inundated localities have been safely evacuated.
According to officials, rescue teams have been working round the clock in low-lying areas of Pulwama district, where rising water levels in streams and drains posed a serious threat to residents. The Pulwama Police and disaster response units used boats and other equipment to shift people to safer locations.
Authorities confirmed that rescue work in Pulwama is still underway, with special focus on vulnerable zones and villages severely hit by the flooding. Relief camps and temporary shelters have been set up for evacuated families, while medical teams remain on standby.
The district administration of Pulwama has urged residents to cooperate with officials, avoid venturing near swollen streams, and follow advisories to ensure safety. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department of Jammu and Kashmir has predicted more rains, keeping rescue agencies on high alert.
