Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan in Poonch takes on a cultural movement to fight drugs

Jammu & Kashmir Excise Department is conducting a regular campaign ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’ (NMBA) for a drug-free nation . Mohd. Arif, Excise Inspector, Rajouri, Poonch Range said, we organise nukkad, natak, seminars etc to spread awareness and this programme will keep going on to fight drugs. Pardeep Khanna, a Cultural Activist said, in honour of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’, since the past two years we have been involved in a cultural movement to fight the menace of drugs in Jammu & Kashmir. The intent is to free our district Poonch from the grip of drugs. Awareness about Drug De-addiction Centres were promoted among the residents to seek help to come out of drugs. Shabeena Parveen, a Cultural Artist performing in Poonch said, functions and shows are organised to tell people how to stay away from drugs and to make the nation drug-free. Shabnum Parveen, another Cultural Artist from Poonch said, no person likes to mess with their life. But for some reason if the person gets caught in bad habits or substance abuse, then we generally avoid such persons. But through the awareness campaigns we tell everyone that every person deserves a good life and it is our duty to protect others. At the district hospital centre, a Drug De-addiction Centre has been opened so if any person or family members are worried they should seek help at the centre for complete recovery.
