LG Manoj Sinha wishes teachers across J&K a bright future on Teachers’ Day!

On Teachers’ Day, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir Shri Manoj Sinha wished all the teachers a bright future in Srinagar.

Teachers’ Day in India is observed on September 5 every year. The day marks the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who served as the second President of India from 1962 to 1967. Teachers’ Day was first announced in 1962. Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was regarded as one of the finest teachers of India. One of his famous quotes is: “Teachers should be the best minds in the country.”

Lt Governor gave prizes to deserving teachers and watched the cultural programmes put up in the honour of teachers by students. He also gave attention to the exhibitions put up by the students.

He told the teachers that it is a good opportunity and that their inner curiosity needs to be sharpened. The teachers vowed to teach with good intention and to bring a revolution in the education system in the government schools.
