Kashmir , March 1,2026- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday chaired a high-level meeting to review the prevailing security situation across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K UT), emphasizing the need for sustained vigilance, inter-agency coordination, and community cooperation to maintain peace and stability.
During the meeting, senior officials from the Police and security agencies briefed the Lieutenant Governor on the overall law and order scenario, recent developments, and measures being undertaken to ensure public safety across districts.
The Lieutenant Governor called upon all communities to remain peaceful and calm, reiterating that maintaining harmony and unity is essential for the continued progress and development of the Union Territory. He urged citizens to cooperate with the administration and security agencies in preserving peace.
“I salute the unwavering and synchronized resolve of our Police and security forces who are working tirelessly to uphold law and order across J&K,” the Lieutenant Governor said, appreciating their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
He stressed that the administration remains fully alert and committed to ensuring a secure environment for residents. Directions were issued to strengthen intelligence coordination, enhance area domination, and ensure swift response mechanisms wherever required.
The meeting also reviewed preparedness levels and contingency planning to deal with any emerging challenges. The Lieutenant Governor underscored that strict action would be taken against elements attempting to disturb peace and communal harmony.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to peace and stability, he said that collective efforts of citizens, civil administration, Police, and security forces are crucial in maintaining normalcy and fostering development across Jammu and Kashmir.
