Srinagar, October 22,2025: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today emphasised the need for technology-driven policing to enhance the efficiency, transparency, and responsiveness of the law enforcement system in Jammu and Kashmir.
Chairing a high-level review meeting on the modernisation of police infrastructure and operations, the Lieutenant Governor directed officials to integrate advanced surveillance systems, AI-based crime analytics, and digital case management tools to ensure real-time monitoring and faster investigation processes.
He highlighted that the future of effective policing lies in the fusion of technology, community engagement, and accountability, which will help the police force tackle emerging challenges such as cybercrime, narco-terrorism, and organised crime.
“Smart policing is not just about adopting gadgets but about creating a culture of professionalism and proactive governance,” LG Sinha said, adding that data-driven decision-making will significantly enhance the safety and security of citizens.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police has already taken several initiatives under the Smart Policing Mission, including the rollout of CCTNS , predictive policing software, and integrated command and control centres in major districts.
The Lieutenant Governor lauded the efforts of JKP in maintaining peace and stability across the Union Territory and reiterated the administration’s commitment to providing state-of-the-art technology, training, and resources to the police personnel.
