Srinagar, June 20,2026- Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, addressed the Srinagar–Nalanda Dialogue, emphasizing the need to revive India’s rich traditions of knowledge, spirituality, and civilizational wisdom while preparing the youth for a technology-driven future.
Speaking at the event, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the historic intellectual connections between Jammu & Kashmir and the ancient seat of learning, Nalanda University. He said that scholars from both regions played a vital role in shaping one of the world’s oldest living civilizations and that this shared heritage continues to serve as a guiding light for the nation.
“The scholars of Jammu Kashmir and Nalanda shaped one of the world’s oldest living civilizations. This heritage is our guiding light. The Srinagar–Nalanda Dialogue is our opportunity to carry that light forward with wisdom, courage, and a new vision for Viksit Bharat,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He noted that the dialogue aims to reconnect society with India’s enduring intellectual and spiritual traditions while fostering an education system that blends ancient wisdom with modern innovation. Stressing the importance of youth engagement, Sinha said that future-oriented education must enable young people to remain rooted in their cultural heritage while embracing emerging technologies and global opportunities.
The Lieutenant Governor further underlined the significance of preserving India’s civilizational legacy and promoting research, learning, and cultural exchange. He said such initiatives contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat by strengthening national identity, encouraging innovation, and nurturing a deeper understanding of the country’s historical contributions to knowledge and human development.
The Srinagar–Nalanda Dialogue brought together scholars, academicians, and thought leaders to discuss India’s intellectual heritage and explore ways to integrate traditional knowledge systems with contemporary educational and technological advancements.
