Jammu, September 16,2026- Jammu & Kashmir is set to light up in a grand celebration as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prepares to light 8.9 lakh diyas across the Union Territory to mark the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 17 September.
The large-scale plan aims to turn homes, streets, temples and public places across the region into a sea of light. Preparations are in full swing, with party workers busy distributing lamps to different districts ahead of the big day.
Distribution from Trikuta Nagar
The diyas are being distributed from the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, which has become the central hub for the campaign. Party workers and volunteers have been sorting, packing and dispatching lamps in large numbers.
Apart from Jammu, diyas are also being sent to Rajouri, Poonch, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar. These districts cover the Pir Panjal region and the Chenab valley, which include many hilly and remote areas.
