Srinagar, September 16, 2026- Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha on Tuesday attended the Shri Shiv Mahapuran Katha in Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, participating in the sacred discourse held in the revered presence of Pandit Pradeep Mishra Ji. Describing the occasion as deeply moving, the Lieutenant Governor observed that the divine teachings of Lord Shiva constitute a sacred pilgrimage for all seekers of truth, offering both spiritual solace and moral direction in an increasingly complex world.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Manoj Kumar Pandey, for organising the extraordinary spiritual congregation, which he said had infused renewed vitality and devotion among the thousands of devotees present. Drawing on a timeless metaphor, he remarked that just as gold is purified through fire, the company of the holy rekindles and cleanses the spiritual energy dormant within the human soul. Such gatherings, he added, serve as a reminder that material progress must be accompanied by inner reflection and moral grounding.
Turning to the broader philosophical vision of Sanatana Dharma, the Lieutenant Governor recalled that Indian civilisation has, since antiquity, placed unity and universal harmony at the very core of its worldview. He noted that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, this ancient vision is steadily finding expression on the global stage. Referring specifically to the recent BRICS Summit held in Delhi, he observed that the timeless mantra of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — “the world is one family” — is increasingly being embraced by nations across the globe as a guiding principle for peace, cooperation and collective welfare.
“What our ancestors envisioned millennia ago is now being embraced by nations worldwide, as they step forward to adopt this philosophy for peace and harmony,” the Lieutenant Governor told the gathering, underscoring India’s growing civilisational influence in shaping international discourse on coexistence and shared prosperity.
The Lieutenant Governor also used the occasion to caution society against the dangers of division, urging citizens to remain vigilant against forces seeking to fracture social harmony. He emphasised that unity remains India’s greatest and most enduring strength, and reminded the audience that Sanatana culture has historically nurtured diversity, mutual respect and human welfare rather than discord. In this context, he made a special appeal to saints and enlightened members of society to take an active role in guiding the nation towards holistic and comprehensive development, blending spiritual wisdom with the demands of modern nation-building.
Expressing firm optimism about India’s trajectory, the Lieutenant Governor affirmed his confidence that the nation’s spirit of unity would once again propel it towards becoming a developed country, reviving its ancient glory on the world stage. He described this as not merely an aspiration but an unfolding reality shaped by collective national will.
“A time has come when we shall guide the world, and saints and enlightened members of society will play a vital role and bear great responsibility in this mission. The power of unity and its spirit will once again make India a developed nation, and I am fully confident that we shall regain our ancient glory,” the Lieutenant Governor said, drawing sustained applause from the assembled devotees.
