J&K | LG Pays Homage to General Zorawar Singh on His Martyrdom Anniversary The Lieutenant Governor paid homage to General Zorawar Singh (1786-1841) who was a great son of Mother India and great warrior of this holy land. I pay my humble tribute to General Zorawar Singh, the great son of Mother India and the great warrior of this holy land, on his death anniversary. On this day, on 12th December, General Zorawar Singh was martyred while fighting in Tibet. Today’s new generation needs to know how General Zorawar Singh ji defeated the mountain-like obstacles and challenges, LG said. It is necessary for today’s generation to understand how General Zorawar, by dedicating himself to recruitment, proved that the real warrior of life has the power to spread his sword even in adversity. Today’s new generation needs to learn that strength of character and aspirations to realise dreams decide the destiny of the nation. These make the society active. I would like to say to one crore and twenty five lakh brothers and sisters of Jammu and Kashmir that the Government of India and Jammu Kashmir Administration is continuously working dedicatedly to fulfill your dreams, your vision and your aspirations, said the Lt Gov Manoj Sinha. Jammu and Kashmir administration is committed to make every family strong, every youth capable, every farmer and sister empowered. Today the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir are eager to live as per their wish. In the last four years, efforts have been made to connect the poor and deprived sections with the mainstream of development. Efforts have been made to bring positive changes in the lives of the weakest sections of the society, LG said. Meaningful changes are being made in agriculture, education, industry, infrastructure, and efforts are being made to provide opportunities to every individual as per his/ her capability. In the last four years, efforts have been made to break the long-term inertia. We have tried our best to fulfill the resolve of the respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi to create a new Jammu and Kashmir.
