Jammu, March 30, 2025-Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha attended the celebration of the 453rd Prakash Utsav of Goswami Shri Guru Nabha Dass Ji Maharaj at Abhinav Theatre in Jammu. The event marked the birth anniversary of the revered saint, with the LG paying obeisance to Guru Nabha Dass Ji and extending heartfelt greetings to the people on this auspicious occasion.
In his address, LG Manoj Sinha highlighted the eternal relevance of Guru Nabha Dass Ji’s spiritual teachings and his immense contribution to India’s composite culture. “Goswami Shri Guru Nabha Dass Ji Maharaj has guided humanity to live an honest, truthful, and virtuous life,” he said, emphasising the saint’s enduring influence.
The Lieutenant Governor underscored how Guru Nabha Dass Ji’s works breathed new life into Indian civilisation, re-instilling self-confidence in society while inspiring devotion. “Through his teachings, he talked about awakening and unity in the society, desiring that the feeling of brotherhood unite us all. He believed compassion in every human being should lead to service,” LG Manoj Sinha added.
Calling upon the people to rise above narrow considerations, the LG stressed the importance of promoting the idea of unity of all mankind. He noted that the progressive teachings of Guru Nabha Dass Ji aimed at creating an ideal community without divisions or discrimination, thereby strengthening social equity.
Reflecting on the saint’s contributions during Bhmetics-Kaal, LG Sinha said, “Guru Nabha Dass Ji guided society towards devotion and the spiritual upliftment of humanity. He emphasised that eliminating class distinctions was essential to foster mutual relations and brotherhood.” The LG further highlighted the Guru’s belief that devotion and meditation lead to continuous self-transformation, stating, “He said the entire life is another name for transformation.”
The event also saw the Lieutenant Governor felicitating achievers from various fields, recognizing their contributions to society. Among those present were Shri Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member of Parliament; Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal and Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Members of Legislative Assembly; Shri Sansar Chand, President of Guru Nabha Dass Samaj Kalyan Parishad; senior officials, and a large gathering of devotees.
