Jammu’s Agriculture, Science & Technology Campus: SKUAST Nurturing Future Innovators- LG Sinha

If you see this institution, you will observe that in the whole world, this agriculture, science and technology campus of Sher-E-Kashmir University of Agriculture, Science & Technology of Jammu (SKUAST) is one that is rare, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha. Here you learn art and science. Preparing the earth for the clouds to the responsibility of fulfilling the needs ranging from food to fabric is understood in the society through this agriculture education. The reflection of the changes that have taken place in the world in the last few years can naturally be seen on the campuses of agricultural universities, LG said. If today there is one most important and sensitive sector for the survival of humanity, for the future of nations, then it is agriculture, LG pointed out. That is why every student entering the campus and every scientist here I believe is the most powerful instrument in solving the challenges of the future. I heartily congratulate SKUAST Jammu for making an important contribution in the G20 Summit organised under the Presidency of India. G20 Universities connect for engaging young minds programme is the country’s first event successfully organised at SKUAST Jammu. For those students present here, the New Delhi G20 deliberations event sets future goals before them. You all have seen the Covid pandemic tough times. Agriculture has been the only sector which has encouraged human society for a bright future of growth. And for the first time, the entire society felt the need to get closer to nature and save it. And that is why it is important for the students of agricultural science and technology to look for new opportunities, new interventions and new inventions so that India can lead the world in this campaign too, LG said. I believe that institutions like SKUAST Jammu are developing into such assets of the nation. They can contribute significantly with their energy to the progress of a country growing with new aspirations, said the Lieutenant Governor.
