Jammu & Kashmir Takes a Bold Step for Child Rights & Protection: LG Commits to a Brighter Future

On the sensitive topic of child life and protection, this is country’s first sensitisation programme and workshop and I feel it is a statement, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha at the Child Right & Protection function. It is also a testament to the administration’s commitment to developing a sensitive supportive ecosystem for children. If I talk about Jammu and Kashmir, the story of misfortune here is very long, LG said. And I would definitely like to say that before 2019 it was not possible to give all the rights to the children of Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir should be grateful to the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi who has shown his strong power and has taken a huge decision due to which all the plans of the Government of India can be implemented in Jammu and Kashmir today. For a long time, conflict profiteers brainwashed hundreds of young children in Kashmir. By luring them, they made them hold stones and guns in their hands. Many people have images in their memories that may still be alive today. Strict action is being taken against such conflict profiteers and will definitely continue to be done, LG said. We want to create such an environment that all the children of adolescent age can get access to information on how to become a good human being. How can they support the journey of the modern ecosystem? I know that adolescence is an age when many times children get misled and take the wrong path. But today, with full sensitivity, we all should ensure that our energies are focused on our personal development and fulfillment of our dreams which can ultimately contribute to Jammu and Kashmir and nation building. And children who are trapped in crime due to circumstances should be completely rehabilitated and they can join the mainstream of society, LG said showing the path for child protection.
