India Should Learn Hospitality from Kashmiris Say Tourists: Kashmiris Urge Nation Not to Abandon J&K Tourists visiting Kashmir are urging fellow Indians not to cancel their travel plans in the wake of recent unrest, highlighting the warmth, hospitality, and safety they’ve experienced during their stay. “The people here have supported us so well. We felt safe, welcomed, and cared for in Sonamarg, Pahalgam, and now Gulmarg,” said a woman tourist. Locals and travellers alike emphasized that the actions of a few should not overshadow the goodwill of an entire community that depends deeply on tourism for survival. We have been in Kashmir for the past three days. We visited Sonamarg, Pahalgam then we are here in Gulmarg, said a lady traveller. The climate is good and so are the people here. I would like to say this. India should learn hospitality from the Kashmiris. They behaved very well, thanks for that. People are supporting very well. Many people with us have cancelled their tickets, so please don’t do this, there is security here and people are supporting us well, said the traveller. Tourists have started coming here once again. The situation that was here five days ago has changed somewhat. The two or four people who did this want to threaten and intimidate us, but we cannot do this. If two or four people do wrong things, we cannot allow the same to happen to the entire public. The message to India is thati if we consider Kashmiris as our own, then we should not abandon them. Backing out of cancelling a booking does not settle the issue. Support Kashmir, people of Kashmir are also supporting India, said a man in Kashmir. The income of the people of Kashmir totally depends on tourism..The beauty of Gulmarg is because of the tourists. Our work is with tourists, tourists will come and our work will continue. There is no such atmosphere here, terror is being spread in the hearts of people. We have been roaming around Kashmir without security for three-four days. We are safe here, said a female tourist sharing her experience.
