A lot of development has taken place here; I have been visiting regularly for the past six years, said Gaurav Sharma, a pilgrim. A wide range of facilities has been significantly enhanced for ordinary devotees, pilgrims, and the general public. We are in a group from Mumbai, said a pilgrim Sarika. Many among our group has come here before. Many are coming here for the first time. We are filled with great excitement, eagerly awaiting the moment we get to see Baba. There are good arrangements for stopping along the way, and a ‘bhandara’ (community kitchen/free meal service) is available, said a pilgrim Rajendra Das. The new route to Pissu Top is the most convenient one, because walking alongside the mule handlers can be a bit of a hassle. Now, there are separate paths for devotees and mule operators from Pissu Top. This is the best option; you can go directly to seek the blessings of Baba Amarnath Ji without any hassle. In our childhood, we used to watch on Doordarshan channel on TV people setting out on the pilgrimage to Baba Amarnath with staffs in their hands; back then, we used to wish that Baba would call us too someday. I had been longing for this ever since, and finally, I had the good fortune to visit a pilgrim said. I had long harboured a deep desire to visit; I was fortunate enough to come here through an acquaintance, and since then, I have been coming regularly for Baba’s darshan.
