There are many skiers who do not like any other skiing except heliskiing, said Chief Minister Jammu & Kashmir, Omar Abdullah. They find slopes that do not have lifts and that have never been skied before and they just leave their ski marks in the snow.
Heli-skiing is off-trail, downhill skiing or snowboarding where the skier reaches the top of the mountain by helicopter, instead of a ski lift.
This time the helicopter came for the whole year, earlier it used to happen in winters only, now heliskiing will start for the whole year. Apart from Gondola ride, Gulmarg will also come to be known for heliskiing and helicopter safari, said Chief Minister Jammu & Kashmir, Omar Abdullah.
