The 2023 Shri Amarnath ji yatra has been suspended for the first time after it began on July 1, 2023. The reason was due to heavy rains at the holy cave premises in Amarnath, Jammu and Kashmir situated at an altitude of 13,000 feet. Amarnath cave is the abode of Lord Shiva and considered one of the holiest religious sites of the Hindus. The 62-days’ long yatra will conclude officially on August 31, 2023.
