Gool Mela Boosts Tourism in Ramban | J&K Showcases Hidden Destinations & Local Culture
Vikas Gupta, Director Tourism Jammu said, it is a priority for our tourism department to promote offbeat destinations—those that remain unexplored yet hold immense tourism potential—alongside our major destinations. In this connection, the Tourism Department organized a fair at Ramban-Gool on the orders of the Chief Minister. The people here had also been demanding this for quite some time. The District Administration also demanded that the Tourism Department should organise a mela at Gool so that Gool Tehsil gets promoted and gains publicity.
Thus the Tourism Department organised a cultural programme in the midst of lush green meadows of Gool. The local school participated and the local artists got a platform to show their talents and culture. Apart from this, celebrity singers were invited to the mela. So, along with local Dogra cultural programme, children used other languages like Punjabi, Urdu, Hindi to give performances. There is no dearth of tourism potentail in Ramban Disttrict.
Similarly, there are many tourism destinations and meadows here. We will try to hold melas and cultural programmes in other Ramban districts too, said the Director Tourism Jammu, Vikas Gupta.
