GI Mahotsav in Srinagar | Celebrating One Nation, One Dream | Empowering Rural India

GI Mahotsav in Srinagar | Celebrating One Nation, One Dream | Empowering Rural India The GI Mahotsav organised in Srinagar best embodies the One Nation One Dream ideology, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha. I consider this event as a true tribute to Bapu’s dreams of a self-reliant rural India in the present world. Because the main objective of Geographical Indication is to protect and use the agricultural food products and silk products of specific geographical areas by making them available in the global market and using a product which is linked to the community and how it can empower them socially and economically, it has great importance and will contribute to their progress. I have to repeat one thing again and again in the last nine years, not only the political terminology of India has changed but there has been a big change in the culture of the country. And obviously, due to the efforts of the present Prime Minister of India, we have got a lot of support and inspiration to reach the Indian products in the global market. Bapu used to say that India’s rural economy is based not on rights but on duties. And physical labor is the main element of these jobs and industries. I believe that the tradition of silk ingrained in our culture and the diverse agricultural produce from different parts of the country is a huge wealth in itself, said the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha.
